Steve Simpson, Professor of Communication, is Dean of Arts and Sciences and the treasurer and founding board member for the Consortium on Graduate Communication and has published in the areas of graduate-level communication, writing center pedagogy, and service learning. Currently he is working an oral history of New Mexico Tech and the surrounding region, with a special interest in the impact of the Manhattan Project on New Mexico. Outside of school, one can find him performing with the Full(ish) Professors around town and reading with his feline friend, Sammy.

He earned his PhD in English from the University of New Hampshire with a specialization in Composition Studies (2010) and MA in English and Comparative Literature from University of Cincinnati.

Steve teaches courses in popular and academic science writing and technical editing. His research interests include Scientific and Technical Communication, Graduate Writing, and ESL.
